NECC ends season with 2-0 shutout victory over Holyoke

Holyoke, MA (October 19th, 2019) - The NECC mens soccer team concluded the regular season with a 2-0 shutout victory over Holyoke on Saturday.

Michael Mbua (Cameroon) recorded a goal in the first half, assisted by Franklin Aguilar (El Salvador/Tewksbury) making his third goal for the season and giving the Knights a 1-0 lead.

Aguilar scored a second half goal for NECC to provide a two goal cushion, making his third goal for the season and resulting in the final score/

Anthony Bellomo (Salem, NH) earned the shutout victory in goal, making eight saves. This was his fourth shutout for the season and sixth win..

The win helps the Knights conclude the regular season with an overall record of 6-8-1 and 4-4 in Region XXI. The regional record put the Knights in a tie for the fourth and final playoff spot, however by virtue of their regional loss to Springfield Technical Community College they will miss the post-season tournament.
