Foster 6th place finish highlights NECC at Tri-State Invitational

Haverhill, MA (September 29, 2018) – A 6th place finish in the men's race from Logan Foster (Atkinson, NH) highlighted the Northern Essex Community College cross country teams trip to Rhode Island for the Tri-State Invitational on Saturday.

Competing primarily against four year colleges, Foster was the top junior college finisher on the 8k course in a time of 30:39 in a field that featured 63 runners. The Knights finished eighth in the team scores behind seven four year institutions. Eastern Connecticut State took home the meets top spot.

Behind Foster, first years Emil Rosario (Methuen, MA) and Jacob Navabi (Haverhill, MA) finished among the top 45 in the race with times of 36:40 and 37:08 respectively.

On the women's side Katelyn Richardson (Wilminton, MA) was the top finished for the Knights covering the challenging 5k course in 42nd place with a time of 25:55.

The Knights will return to the course next Saturday in Westfield, MA when they compete in the James Early Invitational at Stanley Park.

Northern Essex Community College competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and sponsors nine varsity intercollegiate sports including baseball, men's basketball, golf, softball, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's track and field.
