Mullins Hits National Qualifying Mark at season opening Bears Invitational

Haverhill, MA (March 26th 2019) – The NECC track and field teams opened up their seasons this past Saturday at the Bridgewater State Bears Invitational. The day was highlighted by sophomore Olivia Mullins (Plaistow, NH) national qualifying time in the 5000 meter.

Mullins ran a time of 21:14 to secure her spot in the NJCAA National Championship meet to be help May 9-11 at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY. In the meet she placed 11th in a race that featured 16 others runners from NCAA Division II and III programs.

On the men's side Jose Tavares (Salem, MA) ran a time of 12.15 in the 100 meter dash to finish among the top half in the field.
