Mullins 1500 leads Knights at season opening meet

Haverhill, MA (March 31, 2018) – Freshman Olivia Mullins (Plaistow, NH) competed in the 1500 meter race at the Eastern Connecticut State Invitational and crossed the line in a time 5:38.46. Mullins time was just .46 away from the NJCAA National Qualifying standard for the event.

Michael Frezza (Wakefield, MA) competed in the 1500 for the men's team and raced to a time of 4:55.73.

Also competing for the Knights were Jacob Cole (Newburyport, MA) (100m- 12.57, 200m- 25.63), Waldy Tejada (Lawrence, MA) (200m- 26.84) and Adam Koulopoulos (North Andover, MA) (800m- 2:25.05).

The Knights will return to the track next weekend when they will compete in both the Regis Invitational and Fitchburg State Invitational.

Northern Essex Community College competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and sponsors eight varsity intercollegiate sports including baseball, men's basketball, softball, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's track and field.
