Volleyball cruises to 3-0 win over Holyoke

Haverhill, MA (September 25, 2018) – The Northern Essex Community College volleyball cruised to a 3-0 win over Holyoke Community College in Region 21 action Tuesday evening at the Sport and Fitness Center. With the win the Knights improve to 6-2 and 3-0 in regional play.

As a team, the Knights attacked at .387. Leading the offensive attack was Amanda Forgetta (Mallabar, FL) who tallied 15 kills to go along with four service aces. Sarah Shattuck (Andover, MA) added eight kills of her own, while Rachel Amiss (Salem, NH) recorded six kills while also serving up five aces.

Nashaly Sanchez (Lawrence, MA) tossed up 29 assists over the match.

With the offensive onslaught not much was needed from the Knights defensively. Amiss and Sanchez did contribute five and four digs respectively to lead the defensive effort.

The Knights will return to the court next week when they remain home to host MassBay Community College on Thursday October 4th with first serve scheduled for 6:00pm at the Sport and Fitness Center in Haverhill.
