Balanced attack propels Northern Essex past Bunker Hill

Haverhill, MA (January 25, 2018) – The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team had a 25 point halftime lead on Thursday night and hung on to defeat Bunker Hill Community College by a score of 90-80. The win gets the Knights back in the win column and improved to 10-8. The win also exacts a 24 point defeat that Bunker Hill dealt the Knights back on November 16th.  

Freshman Emir Alagoz (Istanbul, Turkey) was the games high scorer with 23 points. Alexis Estrella (Lawrence, MA) and Guney Kilitcioglu (Istanbul, Turkey) also scored in double figures for the Knights as they tossed in 21 and 16 points respectively. Alagoz added 10 assists for a double-double effort and added six steals on the defensive side of the ball.

DJ Greenhalgh (Dracut, MA) continued to make his presence felt on the boards as he contributed 14 rebounds in the win for the Knights.

Bunker Hill freshman Mass Joof was the Bulldogs top scorer with 17 points.

The Knights continue their homestand on Saturday January 27th as they will play host to Gateway Community College with tip off set for 1:00pm.
