Northern Essex dropped by Gateway

Haverhill, MA (January 27, 2018) – The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team couldn't overcome a sluggish start and was dropped by Gateway Community College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 83-70. With the loss the Knights fall to 10-9 on the season.  

Freshman Emir Alagoz (Istanbul, Turkey) led the Knights offensively as he had a team high16 points. Alexis Estrella (Lawrence, MA) and Guney Kilitcioglu (Istanbul, Turkey) each tossed in 15 points to give the Knights three double figure point scorers.

As a team the Knights pulled down 42 rebounds for the game. Estrella had a team high nine rebounds while Trey Sanford (Salem, NH) also added eight rebounds of his own for the Knights.

Gateways Alec Newman was the games high scorer with 27 points.

The Knights will conclude their three game homestand on Tuesday January 30th as they will host Roxbury Community College for a 6:00p.m. tip.
