Mullins sets school record, Richardson 6th place at NJCAA Nationals

Utica, NY (May 12th 2018) – Olivia Mullins (Plaistow, NH) and Katelyn Richardson (Wilmington, MA) of the Northern Essex Community College women's track program both competed Saturday on the final day of the NJCAA National Championships hosted by Mohawk Valley Community College.

Mullins placed 10th in the finals of the 1500 meter and in the process established a new Northern Essex program record. Her time of 5:26.91 bested the previous school mark of 5:35.99 established by Laura Rudd in April of 2007.

Richardson finished in a three way tie for sixth place in the high jump as she cleared a height of 1.34 meters. She is the current school record holder in the event as she had cleared 1.42 meters earlier in the season.

For the meet, the Knights totaled two points.

Northern Essex Community College competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and sponsors eight varsity intercollegiate sports including baseball, men's basketball, softball, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's track and field.
