Kyle Hawes named NJCAA National Player of the Week

Haverhill, MA (April 26, 2018) – Freshman Kyle Hawes (Lynnfield, MA) of the Northern Essex Community College baseball team was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week for April 16th through 22nd.

In a six game week in which the Knights picked up three conference victories Hawes had 16 RBI's and batted .524 with five extra base hits. In process Hawes broke two single game school records on April 18th in the team's win over MassBay. In that game Hawes crushed three home runs and drove in 12 runs as both established new single game high water marks.

Hawes and the rest of the team are set to return to the field on Saturday night when they will play host to Bunker Hill in a double header with first pitch scheduled for 6:00pm at Trinity Stadium.

Northern Essex Community College competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and sponsors eight varsity intercollegiate sports including baseball, men's basketball, softball, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's track and field.
