Dominant pitching leads Knights over Fisher, 12-0

Lynn, MA (March 11, 2021) – Four Northern Essex Community College pitchers combined to strike out 15 batters and allow just one hit on Wednesday evening against Fisher College (JV) in a game that was added to the Knights schedule a day in advance. The game was halted after eight innings.

Alex Sweeney (Raymond, NH) took the ball to start for the Knights and he struck seven batters over three innings of work. Hunter Wilichoski (Hamilton) and Sean Letarte (Georgetown) each followed throwing two innings a piece and recorded four and three strikeouts respectively. Nick White (Townsend) recorded the games final three outs and struck out one batter in the process.

Offensively, NECC got on the board in the third inning with two runs. Kameron Levesque (Hooksett, NH) started the inning with a walk and would move to second on a one out single by Clay Campbell (Goffstown, NH). The pair would execute a double steal that led to a throwing error and allowed Levesque to score and Campbell would score two pitches later on a passed ball.

The Knights would bust the game open in the seventh as they tack on four runs before plating six runners in the eighth. In the seventh, Levesque started the inning with a single and would score two batters later on a single from Campbell. Logan Burill (Amesbury) then ripped a two out triple to center and would score on a base hit from Joe Muzio (Rockport). Frank Gulezian (Manchester, NH) and Jared Coppola (Lynn) would both add RBI singles in the inning.

For the game, NECC cranked out 13 hits with Chris Presinal (Sudbury), Burrill and Muzio each recording multiple hits in the game.

The Knights now hit the road to take on 2019 NJCAA runner-up and pre-season number two Rowan- Gloucester for a four game series beginning on Saturday.
