Haverhill, MA (January 20, 2022) – The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team picked up an 84-63 home victory on Thursday night in non-conference action over Eastern Nazarene College JV. With the victory, the Knights improve to 8-7 on the season. It is the fourth straight win for NECC and matches the longest win streak since November of 2017.

Mehmet Asik (Ankara, TR) led four players in double figures for NECC as he dropped a game high 20 points. Cristian Kinsley (Lawrence) continues his strong play in his return to the lineup as he poured in 19 including five baskets from behind the arc.

Daniel Almarante (Lawrence) added 16 points and Phillip Cunningham (Haverhill) tossed in 13 to lead the Knights offense.

Kinsley added five steals and six rebounds on the defensive side of the ball.

NECC will return to the court on Sunday for the second of four straight home games when they return to Region 21 play and tip off with Bunker Hill at 12:00pm. The game will be streamed live on the NECC Athletics YouTube channel. Spectators will not be permitted in accordance with conference policy.
