Haverhill, MA (November 19, 2022) – The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball jumped out to a big lead early and never trailed on their way to a 109-79 win over MassBay Community College on Saturday afternoon at the Sport and Fitness Center. With the win, the Knights improve to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
The hot shooting of Cristian Kinsley (Lawrence) who scored a career high 22 points on six of eight shooting from behind the arc led five NECC players in double figures.
Mehmet Asik (Istanbul, TR) and Phillip Cunningham (Haverhill) both recorded double-double performances with 16 and 15 points respectively, while each added 11 rebounds.
Luis Reynoso (Lawrence) and Edwin SamMbaka (Paris, FR) added 11 and 10 points respectively. Reynoso also added a eight assists and four steals.
The Knights will be idle until next Saturday when they host the inaugural NECC/TD Bank Turkey Classic at the Sport and Fitness Center on November 26th and 27th. NECC will kick off the tournament when they play host to SUNY-Adirondack at 2:00pm
