Haverhill, MA (February 9, 2023) – The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team it 21 straight wins on Thursday night as they ran past Bunker Hill Community College at the Sport and Fitness Center. The win moves the Knights to 25-1 on the season while remaining a perfect 20-0 in conference play.

At the midway point of the first half the Knights were able to start to open the game up and took a 25-point lead into the locker room at halftime leading the Bulldogs 50-25.

Luis Reynoso (Lawrence) led the Knights as scored a team high 21 points, while picking up a double-double with 14 rebounds.

Jonathan Lingisi (Hamilton, ON) and Jeremiah Melendez (Lawrence) joined Reynoso in double figures with 17 and 10 points respectively. For Lingisi it was his season high point total.

Edwin SamMbaka (Paris, FR) continued his strong defensive play with nine rebounds and three blocked shots.

NECC will hit the road on Saturday to take on second-place Quincy College. Tip-off is set for 5:00pm at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy.
