Tringale repeats as NJCAA National Pitcher of the Week

Haverhill, MA (April 15, 2021) – Todd Tringale (Saugus) of the Northern Essex Community College baseball team has been named the NJCAA National Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week (ending April 11th) as announced by the national office on Wednesday afternoon.

This past Sunday, Tringale returned to the mound following his last outing and continued his dominance of opposing batters. He tossed a complete game striking out 11, while allowing three hits and three walks in the Knights 1-0 win over Eastern Connecticut State on Sunday. Tringale improved to 3-0 on the season and lowered his ERA 1.48 which ranks fifth nationally for pitchers who have thrown at least 20 innings on the season, his 50 strikeouts rank third nationally.

Tringale is the first athlete in the NECC's athletic program to win a player of the week award in consecutive weeks and joins Anthony Siri of the men's basketball program in 2009 and 2010 and Domingo Cruz of the baseball team in 2011 as multiple time winners of NJCAA Player of the Week awards.
