Portsmouth, NH (November 30, 2021) - The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team dropped a 84-76 decision Tuesday night on the road at Great Bay Community College. With the loss the Knights fall to 4-5 on the season and remain 2-0 in conference play.

The Knights were hampered by foul trouble to a pair of starters early in the contest and struggled at the free throw line in the second half, shooting just 50% after going 91% at the line in the first half.

Elijah Haas (Haverhill) was the games high scorer as he poured in 22 points. Phillip Cunningham (Haverhill) tossed in 14 points in his return to the lineup and Mehmet Asik (Ankara, TR) added 13 points.

The Knights trailed 41-37 at half time. 

NECC returns to the court on Thursday and remains on the road for the first of four conference games before going on the semester break. Thursday's tip is set for 7:00pm against Quincy College. NECC returns home on Saturday to host Community College of Rhode Island for a noon time tip off.
