Haverhill, MA (February 3, 2022) – The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team saw 11 different players record a basket on Thursday night as they cruised to an 81-52 Region 21 victory over the Tigers of Roxbury Community College. The win was the eighth straight for the Knights who improve 12-7 overall and 9-2 in conference play.
Cristian Kinsley (Lawrence) led the Knights in scoring for the second consecutive game as he dropped a game high 19 points. Metin Yavuz (Istanbul, TR) and Daniel Almarante (Lawrence) joined him in double-figures.
Yavuz who contributed 11 rebounds and six assists and Phillip Cunningham (Haverhill) keyed a strong defensive effort that kept the Knights in control from the opening tip.
The Knights will look to make it nine in a row on Saturday when they head to New Haven, CT to take on Gateway Community College at 1:00pm. NECC will return home on Tuesday February 8th to host Springfield Technical Community College at 6:00pm
