Knights run past SUNY-Adirondack on day one of Turkey Classic

Haverhill, MA (November 26, 2022) – The #14 nationally ranked Northern Essex Community College men's basketball opened day one of the NECC/TD Bank Turkey Classic with a 86-71 win over visiting SUNY-Adirondack. With the win the Knights improve to 8-1 on the season.

The Knights led from wire to wire and took a seven-point lead into the locker room at halftime (38-31) before opening up a second half lead that got to as much as 18 in the early stages of the second half. The Timberwolves cut the lead to seven the late stages before NECC pulled away in the final minutes.

Luis Reynoso (Lawrence) was the games high scorer as he recorded a season high 30 points and added 20 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.

Cristian Kinsley (Lawrence) added 18 points as he shot 5 of 8 from behind the three point line and was a perfect 3 for 3 at the foul line. Angel Herrera (Lawrence) making a spot start in the Knights line-up added 10 points to give the NECC three in double figures.

Edwin SamMbaka (Paris, FR) helped lead a strong defensive effort as he picked up three steals on the afternoon.

The Knights will have a quick turnaround as they return to the court on Sunday for day two of the NECC/TD Bank Turkey Classic as they will play host to Suffolk County (NY) Community College at 2:00pm
