Haverhill, MA (January 24, 2023) – The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team picked up their 15th straight win on Tuesday night in convincing fashion as they rolled over Gateway Community College by a 93-48 final. The Knights improved to 19-1 on the season and remain a perfect 14-0 in conference play.
NECC took a 19-point lead into the locker at halftime (40-21) and never looked back as they outscored the Lions by a 53-27 margin in the second half.
Luis Reynoso (Lawrence) was the games high scorer as he dropped in 22, 18 of which came in the second half. He added 15 rebounds to record his 16th double-double of the season.
Jeremiah Melendez (Lawrence) and Phillip Cunningham (Haverhill) joined Reynoso in double figures as they added 16 and 11 points respectively.
NECC will look to make it 16 in a row on Thursday night when they remain home to take on the Rams of Springfield Technical Community College. Opening tip-off is set for 6:00pm from The Sport and Fitness Center.
