Haverhill, MA (November 25, 2023) – The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team improved to 7-0 on the season as they rolled past the Timberwolves of SUNY Adirondack by a 99-61 final to open up the 2nd annual NECC Turkey Classic. The Knights will host Suffolk County (NY) Community College on Sunday at 2:00pm to conclude their tournament.
The Knights jumped out to 11-0 lead and took a 45 to 26 lead in the locker room at halftime.
For Northern Essex, Karl Wolfgang (Douala, CM) recorded a game high 17 points to lead five Knights in double figures. He also recorded 3 blocks and 9 rebounds in the winning effort.
Javien Kirmil (Lowell) and Darlin Santiago (Salem) each recorded 11 points while Kyoya Sasaki (Tokyo, JP) and Jalen Aquino (Lawrence) had 10 each to round out the Knights double figure scorers.
Luis Reynoso (Lawrence) was held to single digit points for the first time this season, but still made his presence felt as he recorded 14 rebounds to go along with eight assists, three blocks and three steals.
Following the conclusion of the Turkey Classic on Sunday, the Knights will return home on Tuesday to host Bristol Community College in Region 21 action.
