#5 Knights score season high 122 points in rout over UConn-Avery Point

Haverhill, MA (January 17, 2024) – Luis Reynoso (Lawrence) recorded his second triple double in the last three games and third of the season as the #5 nationally ranked Knights of Northern Essex Community College improved to 16-1 on the season and remained unbeaten in Region 21 play at 11-0 as they defeated the Pointers by a 122-59 final as they opened a four-game stand Wednesday evening.

Reynoso, who was one of seven Knights to score in double figures led all scorers with 25 points to go along with 15 rebounds and 10 assists. He also added four steals and two blocked shots to fill up the stat sheet.

NECC jumped out to an early 14-2 lead and led 25-14, before going into the locker room with a 36 point half time lead at 65-29.

Joining Reynoso in double figures were Camill Palacioglu (Tuebingen, GR) with 18 points, Ben Nkwantah (Methuen) with 15, Cameron Bayo (Paris, FR) with 12, while Javien Kirmil (Lowell) and Edwin SamMbaka (Paris, FR) each had 11 and Karl Wolfgang (Douala, CM) made his return to the lineup from injury with 10 points.

The Knights will remain at home when they entertain Community College of Rhode Island on Tuesday January 23rd with tip-off scheduled for 7:30pm at the Sport and Fitness on the Haverhill campus.
