New York, NY (January 12, 2025) – The #12 nationally ranked Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team had 12 different players find the scoresheet on Saturday afternoon, including four in double figures, as they picked up their 13th straight win and improved to 15-2 on the season with a 79-52 non-conference win over LaGuardia Community College.
Alex Johnson (Worcester) had a team high 15 points and was followed by Alejandro Delgado (Haverhill) with 12, while Ryan Pacy (Salem, NH) and Xavier Rivera (Lowell) recorded 11 points each. As a team, the Knights shot an even 50% (35-70) from the floor, including 33.3% from behind the three point arc.
NECC's high pressure defense force LaGuardia to turn the ball over 24 times and resulted in 27 points off turnovers.
Delgado and Yuno Matsuda (Tokyo, JP) each recoded a team high eight rebounds, while Matsuda handed out four rebounds.
The Knights will return to the court on Thursday as they return to conference play and will take on Roxbury Community College at 7:30pm from the Reggie Lewis Center.
