Haverhill, MA (September 18, 2024) – Northern Essex Community College sophomore Jadiel Bomfim (Nashua, NH) has been named the NJCAA National Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday September 15th as announced today by the national office.
For the reigning Region 21 Player of the Year and First Team All-American it marks his second career player of the week honor as he picked up the recognition on October 8th 2023.
In two games last week Bomfim netted five goals in a pair routs as the Knights defeated New Hampshire Tech 8-0 in which he recorded a goal and followed that performance up with a four-goal effort on the road Saturday at Community College of Rhode Island in a 7-1 victory.
Bomfim who finished second in the country in scoring a season ago with 27 goals, currently has six goals through five games.
The Knights return to the pitch today when they travel to Massasoit to take on the Warriors at 4:00pm in Brockton in non-divisional action.
