Haverhill, MA (November 26, 2023) – The Northern Essex women's basketball opened up the home portion of their schedule by taking a wire to wire victory over the Sharks of Suffolk County on Sunday afternoon to conclude the NECC Turkey Classic weekend. With the win, the Knights improve their overall record 3-1 on the season.

NECC opened up the game with full court pressure and jumped out to a 24-6 first quarter lead, before taking a 32-19 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Knights outscored the Sharks 17-9 in the third quarter the open a lead that Suffolk County couldn't battle back from.

McKayla Dingle (Haverhill) was the games high scorer as she recorded 22 points including connecting on six three pointers. Briannah Namale (Lowell) joined Dingle in double with 17 points of her own.

Maraih LaSalle (Lawrence), Emma Ruggerio (Chelmsford) and Mirelys Morales (Dracut) each recorded nine points apiece as nine different players found the scoring column for the Knights.

NECC will hit the road starting Thursday when they travel to Community College of Rhode Island for a 6:00pm tip-off in Warwick for the first of five straight road games.
