Haverhill, MA (February 20, 2024) – McKayla Dingle (Haverhill) tossed in 20 points off the bench and Mirelys Morales (Dracut) recorded 18 points of her own as the Northern Essex Community College women's basketball team picked up a 69-56 home non-conference victory over the visiting Lynx of NHTI. With the win, the Knights improve to 11-7 overall on the season.
The Knights were in control throughout most of the game as they jumped out to 23-11 advantage after the first quarter and took a 42-23 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Morales recorded a double-double as she contributed 11 rebounds while Janisa Price (Haverhill) continued her strong play on the board as she picked up 12 rebounds to go along with 6 points. Kamryn Pastorello (Billerica) added nine points for the Knights.
NECC will close out the regular season on Thursday night when they return home to face Great Bay Community College with tip-off set for 6:00pm, before the Knights head into the Region 21 Tournament on March 2nd.
