Connor Marston takes over leading NECC Esports program

Haverhill, MA (June 2, 2021) - Northern Essex Community College Director of Athletics Dan Blair has announced that Connor Marston has been named the head coach of the Knights Esports program. He will assume his duties over the summer to prepare the Knights for the 2021-22 campaign.

Prior to taking over the Knights program Marston has accumulated over 5,000 hours of esports experience as a player, team manager recruiter and scheduler through the ESEA league.

"I'm excited and ready to continue to build and grow a fun friendly and competitive community of gamers at NECC," stated Marston

In addition to his esports playing and coaching experience Marston also has experience with streaming the competition on multiple platforms.

"I look forward to having Connor take over the esports program and continue to build our championship wining program while expanding the opportunities we provide our students, both on campus in our esports lab and virtually," stated Blair.

The Knights esports program which has captured three national championships in its first two seasons of competition and competes as members of the New England Collegiate Conference, where it most recently captured the 2020 Overwatch championships.

Northern Essex Community College competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and sponsors 12 varsity intercollegiate sports including baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, softball, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, men's soccer, Esports and men's and women's track and field.
