Basketball's D'Amato Goes Viral

Matt D'Amato (Peabody) of the Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team has gone viral with his mullet hairstyle. 

A video crew from Ballislife.com was present for the Knights season opener on November 3rd against UMaine-Augusta and immedalty picked up on D'Amato's hair style and scoring ability.

Ball is Life released the 26 second video on Monday evening with the caption, "This player needs a nickname" and by Tuesday afternoon had gone viral.

The video has over 425,000 views on @BallisLife on Twitter and was picked up by SportsCenter and SportsNation among others sports news sources. The post from SportsCenter which has nicknamed D'Amato "The Mullet Mamba" has over 319,000 likes and nearly 3,500 comments.

NECC Athletics will be honoring The Mullet Mamba at upcoming home games. On Tuesday November 23rd mullet wigs will be available to students in attendance and at home games in December the official Mullet Mamba t-shirts will be available.
