Haverhill, MA (November 2, 2020) – The Northern Essex Community College Overwatch team has secured the top seed and a first round bye in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference post season tournament scheduled to begin on November 14th and will be presented by HyperX following a 3-0 victory over Carrol College (IA).
In the win over Carroll College, Jason McDonald (Freaky J) of Georgetown picked up Player of the Game honors as the Knights picked up map wins in Havana 3-0, Kings Row 4-3 and Lijiang Tower 2-1. Jacob Pimentel (Tilted) of Haverhill also picked up special recognition mention in the victory.
Team had a bye week in NJCAAE action and will resume regular season competition this week. Following the first round bye, semi-final action in the NECC will take place on Wednesday November 18th followed by the Championship on Saturday November 21st.
In Rainbow Six: Siege, the Knights drew even with Barton Community College (KS) and move to 3-0-1 in league action and currently sit in second place. NECC dropped the opening map of Kafe Dostoyevsky by a 7-4 score before rallying back win the second map Clubhouse by a 7-5 score. David Callaghan (Dcalli) of Salem, NH grabber Player of the Game honors for the Knights.
In Madden action, Eli Abbott (Bigdaddy25477) of Newburyport playing as the Patriots lost his matchup against Iowa Central Community College (Chiefs) by a score 34-7.
