Haverhill, MA (March 7, 2019) -  Emir Alagoz (Istanbul, Turkey), Evan Hardy (Methuen, MA) and Guney Kilitcioglu (Istanbul, Turkey) of the Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team have been chosen to the 2019 Region XXI All-Region Honorable Mention team as selected and voted by the regional coaches.

Alagoz was among the team leaders in a number of categories as he ranked first in shooting percentage at 52.6%, assists at 6.6 per game and assist to turnover ratio at 3.6 per game. On the season who scored 293 averaging 12.3 points per game, and finished his career with 726 points over two seasons.

Gilitcioglu led team in rebounds grabbing 206 on the season averaging 7.4 per game. He also finished second on the team in scoring with 13.8 points per game. He scored 385 points on the season and finished his career 750 points.

Hardy, a constant threat from three point range led the team in scoring at 15 points per game and finished his rookie campaign with 389 points.

As a team the Knights concluded the season with a 10-18 overall record and 10-16 record in regional play, missing the post-season tournament by one game.

Northern Essex Community College competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and sponsors nine varsity intercollegiate sports including baseball, men's basketball, golf, softball, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's track and field.
