Holyoke, MA (December 12, 2021) – Hitting the court for the final time in the fall semester, the Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team cruised to 78-49 road victory over Holyoke Community College. With the win the Knights improve to 6-7 overall and 4-2 in Region 21 play.
For the game, 11 different Knights recorded a basket with three hitting double figures. The Haverhill duo of Phillip Cunningham and Elijah Haas led the way with 15 and 14 points respectively. Mehmet Asik (Ankara, TR) added 11 points to go along with 11 rebounds.
Asik concludes the first half of the season recording double doubles in six of the Knights last seven contests.
The Knights will now break for final exams and the holidays. They'll return to the court at home in the new year when they host Springfield Technical Community College on Tuesday January 11th at 6:00pm at the Sport and Fitness on the Haverhill campus.
