Warwick, RI (November 30, 2023) – Northern Essex Community College head men's basketball coach Darren Stratton picked up milestone win 300 of his career leading the Knights on Thursday. NECC ranked second in the most recent NJCAA weekly poll improved to 10-0 on the season and 6-0 in Region 21 play with the 88-71 road victory.

NECC jumped out to a 13-3 lead four minutes into the contest and took a 12 point lead in the locker room at halftime 41-29.

Jalen Aquino (Lawrence) led four scorers in double digits for the Knights with 20 points, 17 of which  coming in the second half.

Luis Reynoso (Lawrence) recorded his ninth double-double of the season as he had 15 points, to go along with 14 rebounds. He also added six assists, three steals and two blocked shots.

Reigning NJCAA Player of the Week, Karl Wolfgang (Douala, CM) nearly recorded a double-double of his own with 12 points and nine rebounds to go along with three blocks and a steal. Gabe Zorilla (Lawrence) added 11 points off the bench.

Edwin SamMbaka (Paris, FR) had a strong defensive game for the Knights with five steals and three blocks.

NECC will return to the court on Saturday when they host MassBay on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 12:00pm at the Sport and Fitness Center.
