Haverhill, MA (February 28, 2024) – Behind a 29-point, 15 rebound effort from Luis Reynoso (Lawrence), the top seeded and #3 nationally ranked Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team improved to 28-1 on the season with a 93-61 victory over Roxbury Community College and advanced to the Saturday's NJCAA East District Semi-Final where they will take on fifth seeded Massasoit Community College at 4:00pm from the Sport and Fitness Center.

The games opening minutes were back and forth before the Knights began to open up a lead at the midway point of the first half and took a 51-31 lead into the locker room halftime.

Joining Reynoso in double figures were Gabe Zorillo (Lawrence) and Darlin Santiago (Salem) who scored 11 and 10 points respectively. Edwin SamMbaka (Paris, FR) and Karl Wolfgang (Douala, CM) added nine points each.

NOTE:

Northern Essex will host the men's and women's semi-finals and finals of the East District/Region 21 Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. A full tournament schedule will be released tomorrow.
