Three record multi-point game as soccer dominates in win over Quinsigamond

Haverhill, MA (September 26, 2023) – The Northern Essex Community College men's soccer team picked up their first conference win of the season on Tuesday evening as they improved to 4-2-1 on the season and 1-0-1 on Region 21 play as they dominated Quinsigamond with 5-0 result.

NECC took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break after peppering 25 first half shots towards the QCC goal including three shots that rang off the crossbar. The lone goal of the first half came in the 21st minute as Ronan Harrington (Newburyport), got his head onto a free kick off the foot of Kaleb Gianini (Lowell) from 30 yards out for his second goal of the season.

Following the break, the Knights scored three goals in a six-minute span starting in the 58th minute as Estevan Aranogo (Nashua, NH) launched a free kick into the box that deflected off of a defensive player and into the net. Just under two minutes later Jonathan Diaz (Methuen) scored on a nicely slotted pass from Jadiel Bomfim (Nashua, NH) and Gianini finished the quick barrage as he dribbled through a pair of defenders and found the back of the net.

In the 70th minute Bomfim capped the scoring as Diaz returned the favor and picked up the assist.

Will Paganini (Derry, NH) picked up his fourth win of the season needing to make just three saves.
