Track and Field has strong weekend at pair of meets

Haverhill (April 7th, 2019) – The track and field teams had a strong weekend at a pair of events on Friday and Saturday, highlighted by Katelyn Richardson's (Wilmington, MA) school record and national championship meet qualifying performance in the high jump.

Richardson broke her own school record in the high jump which she set last season and qualified for the nationals as she cleared 1.45 meters on her first attempt to punch her ticket to the national championship at Mohawk Valley Community College next month.

Also, for the women, Olivia Mullins (Plaistow, NH) ran a time of 5:42.7 in the 1,500 meter. The time currently ranks 12th nationally and is four seconds shy of meeting the national qualifying standard.

On the men's side, the team continued to show improvements with Emil Rosario (Methuen, MA) and Andy Barrientos (Lawrence, MA) both recording 800 meter personal bests with 2:19. Alex Ellis (Methuen, MA) making his college debut in the event ran a time of 2:11.

Jose Tavares (Salem, MA) continues to lead the way in the sprinting events as he posted times of 11.9 and 24.35 in the 100 and 200 meter events.
