Haverhill, MA (May 6, 2022) - A pair of athletes from the Northern Essex Community College track and field team are set to compete next week at the NJCAA Championships May 12th through the 14th at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York

Francisco Laracuente (Amesbury) has qualified for the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 17.54, which he ran at the Yale Springtime Invitational on May 1st. He will be participating in the 400 low hurdles as well, he is currently ranked 6th in the high hurdles and 14th in the low hurdles nationally

Catherine Schwartz (Groveland), qualified for Nationals with a season-best time of 13.38 in the 100 meters at Yale. She is currently ranked 12th in that distance nationally, and she's also scheduled to run the 200-meter as well where she is currently ranked 23rd.
