Haverhill, MA (January 28, 2024) – Behind a 31-point, 13 rebound performance from Mireyls Morales (Dracut) the Northern Essex Community College women's basketball team returned the win column over the weekend with a resounding 75-19 win over Springfield Tech. With the women, the Knights get back over the .500 mark for the season and improve to 7-6 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

NECC jumped out to an early lead and never looked back and they led 19-5 at the end of the first quarter and 42-10 at the halftime break.

Morales was joined in double-double category by Kamryn Pastorello (Billerica) who recoded 16 points to go along with 12 rebounds.

Janisa Price (Haverhill) and Emma Ruggerio (Chelmsford) both added double digit rebounds with 12 and 10 respectively. Price added eight points while Mariah Lasalle (Lawrence) contributed nine points.

The Knights will return to the court on Tuesday night when they will host the Tigers of Roxbury Community College. Opening tip-off is set for 5:30pm from the Sport and Fitness Center on the Haverhill campus.
