Haverhill, MA (February 17, 2024)- The Northern Essex Community College women's basketball team raced past the Wyverns of Quinsigamond on Saturday night by a 76-36 final score and improved to 10-7 overall and 9-3 in Region 21 play.
NECC was led by a trio of double-digit scorers led by Mirelys Morales (Dracut) with a game-high 19 points. McKayla Dingle (Haverhill) added 18 points off the bench and Emma Ruggerio (Chelmsford) poured in 16.
Janisa Price (Haverhill) had a game high 13 rebounds while adding seven points of her own.
The Knights led 44-15 at halftime and never looked back.
The Knights will remain home for the remainder of the season as they will play host to a pair of non-conference games next week as they host NHTI on Tuesday at 6:30pm before Great Bay Community College visits on Thursday at 6:00pm.
NECC will also play host to the entirety of the Region 21 Tournament on March 2-3.
